Six business sites.
One connected
platform.
The customer had six websites, each with a different design, different ways of working and separate hosting. I proposed a unified design and a six-in-one platform: one entry point for the company group, with everything hosted on a single rented VPS.
The challenge
Six existing sites with inconsistent designs, different workflows and separate hosts. Quotations were calculated in Excel.
The solution
One design direction, six connected business sites and one VPS. Purpose-built calculators replace the spreadsheet-based quotation process.
In practice
The company leader also uses the calculators to prepare quotations. The same tools serve customers and day-to-day business operations.

One platform. One place to run it.
The six business sites share a Next.js frontend, a Node.js backend built with AdonisJS and a PostgreSQL database, hosted together on one rented VPS. The individual business profiles remain distinct, within a consistent design and operating model.
All quotation calculations run on the server, keeping the calculation logic out of the browser.

A rental business. Not just a product list.
A fully customisable administration area gives the company control over every aspect of its products. On the customer side, vector and RAG search support product discovery, with smart related-product recommendations to help customers find suitable equipment.
From Excel sheets to everyday quotation tools.
Earthworks, stormwater, concrete drilling and cutting, and masonry each have a dedicated site and an interactive calculator. These replace the Excel tables previously used for quotations — and are precise enough that the company leader now prepares quotations with them too. Real-time distance data from a Google API feeds into the estimates. Every calculation runs server-side, rather than in the customer’s browser.
Built and ready. Launch on hold.
The sixth site covers equipment servicing. Development is complete, but the customer has paused its launch because of capacity constraints. The public hub marks the service as coming soon.
